Magdolna Sass is a senior research fellow at the Institute for Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. She graduated from the University of Economics in 1988, and worked for the Institute for World Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in the period between 1988 and 1995. She joined the Institute of Economics in 1996, and obtained her PhD from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1998. Between 1997 and 2000, she worked for the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris. On return to the Institute in September 2000, she continued to work on the topics of foreign direct investments and foreign trade and related policies in the East-Central European countries, with special attention to developments in Hungary.
